Top Tips To Help You Create A Plant Loving Home

HOME INSIDE

Indoor plants can brighten any space. They are very good at purifying the air, looking pretty, and making you feel generally better about life. In fact, studies show that indoor plants can even help you to concentrate more.

In short, having plants in your home is a good thing. But, how do you create a plant-loving home? It is easier than you think.

Get Some Plants

The easiest first step is to buy several plans. This means you have a vested interest in making your home welcoming to plants. It is a good idea to get some plants that are relatively easy to look after, such as the ponytail palm. This will make it easier for you to keep them alive and enjoy having plants in your home.

Light Levels

Having got some plants you will need to assess the light levels in your home. South-facing windows will get the most sun and are good for plants that love direct sunlight. However, many plants prefer indirect light, which means an easterly or westerly facing window where they get direct sun but only for part of the day. Equally, you may find the plants flourish by being out of direct light and have enough light from the sun bouncing around your room.

The key is to pick a spot that isn’t as bright as you think the plant will enjoy. You can then move the plant to a brighter spot if it doesn’t flourish in its first spot.

Location

The location is partially controlled by light/ but, to make and show you have a plant-loving home you need to start looking at all the space in your room.  That means putting shelves on the walls or creating rope hangers to support your plants as they hang from the ceilings.

By lifting plants you are creating an environment that feels more like you are outside. The different levels of your plants make them look more interesting and increases the depth of perception.

Different Plants

It goes without saying that you want several different plants in your collection. However, when considering different plants focus on how they look. You need some with big leaves, some with small ones, and even a variety of flower colors. This will help them all to stand out against each other and your house to look fantastic.

Don’t forget that this is a great time to think about fragrance. You’ll be able to smell your plants every time you step into the house, you want that smell to be welcoming.

Potting The Plants

The plants are the main feature but they need to be put into pots. This is where you will want to incorporate your own personal style. Consider the things you like and the space where the plants are likely to go. You can then decide on what type of pot you need and make sure it reflects your personality. Fabric Baskets are an excellent alternative to traditional plant pots and are available in a variety of different patterns, colors, and materials. They are a great choice for those looking for a softer, more tactile option to house your plants.

Putting plants in your home shows it is a plant-loving home. But, adding your personal touches is what makes it the perfect environment for plants and other things.
